Surface Studio Digital Assets (SSDA) is the stock image branch of Surface Studio NYC. Established in 1996, Surface Studio is New York’s first rental studio for surfaces, backgrounds, and set pieces for still life and tabletop photography. All surfaces are handmade by our co-founder Joseph Szilva, and are available to rent in the NYC area at surfacestudio.com.

SSDA licenses high quality stock images for a selection of our surfaces for those who are unable to rent physical surfaces or are looking for our products in a digital format. Images are photographed on a 50 megapixel, medium format digital camera for maximum quality and provided as 8 bit, 300dpi TIFF images without sharpening to allow for flexibility in post production.
